What is Wendy’s Wonderful Kids?

Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, a signature program of The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, is dedicated solely to finding permanent families for more than 100,000 children in foster care nationally.

Klingberg Family Centers, funded by The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and CT Department of Children and Families, is the only CT Wendy’s Wonderful Kids program.  Our five Permanency Specialists work with up to 60 children and youth at any given time building relationships, connecting with resources and supporting potential adoptive families to learn about the needs of the child.

Our Children and Youth:

  • Are between the ages of 8-18 years old
  • May be part of a sibling group
  • Come from all races and cultural backgrounds.
  • Have experienced a great deal of loss, abuse or trauma
  • Are in NEED a nurturing environment to help them heal and grow!

Starting the Process:

It is easy to get started!  Contact our Lead Recruiter and together, we can talk about the process of becoming a foster to adopt parent, learn more about you and help identify the best match between our youth and your family.
