Welcome to our TIPS MAPP Informational Page!

At Klingberg Family Centers we pride ourselves in offering our potential foster and adoptive parents the best training available in order to prepare them to open their home to the youth we serve.

TIPS MAPP (Trauma Informed Partnering for Safety and Permanence – Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting) training is a ten week training program that meets one time a week for a three hour session.  It provides an atmosphere for learning and an opportunity for families to identify both their strengths and needs for fostering and adopting. Klingberg’s MAPP course covers a range of topics, including an overview of children in foster care, behaviors, loss and grief, strengths and needs, what families can expect when fostering a child or children, and more. The program is intended to enable the participants to decide about becoming foster and adoptive parents at the end of the training process. Participants will meet others who also are embarking on the foster care journey.
